Air Quality Data Scientist

We're not just looking, we're on a quest for a skilled Air Quality Data Scientist – someone ready to apply advanced data analysis and machine learning to solve environmental challenges, predict the future... oh no no, not that future, we're talking about the future ambient air quality, and maybe even become the superhero the planet never knew it needed!

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement machine learning models (e.g., XGBoost, Random Forest, LSTM).
Analyze time series data and engineer features to build predictive models.
Train, validate, and fine-tune models using Scikit-learn and TensorFlow/Keras.
Evaluate model performance with metrics like RMSE, MAE, and MAPE.
Conduct model diagnostics to optimize performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance models and integrate new data sources.
Present findings through clear reports and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Data Science, Meteorology, Geography, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in machine learning and time series forecasting, with hands-on experience using Scikit-learn, XGBoost, and TensorFlow/Keras.
Experience working with multivariate time series data and integrating external datasets.
Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis and visualization.

Desired Skills

Experience with deep learning models like LSTM or GRU for sequential time series data.
Familiarity with environmental models and their outputs, especially when dealing with urban data.
Knowledge of environmental dynamics and how various factors influence data patterns.
Experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for model deployment and data management.
