Fugitive Dust Dispersion Model
FDMpro ™
FDMpro is an air quality model specifically designed for computing concentration and deposition impacts from fugitive dust sources.
Overview
FDMpro is an air quality model specifically designed for computing concentration and deposition impacts from fugitive dust sources. The model is based on the concept of US EPA Fugitive Dust Model (FDM) and CALINE. It can be used to model non-buoyant point, line and area sources. The model is generally based on the well-known Gaussian Plume formulation for computing concentrations, but the model has been specifically adapted to incorporate an improved gradient-transfer deposition algorithm.
The integration of FDM and CALINE into FDMpro makes this model a complete tool for the prediction of fugitive dust level from mining operations and subsequent transportation.
A recompletion of the source codes brings support for the Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems in 32 and 64 bit versions. Additionally it increased the number of sources and receptors the FDM could initially handle.
Prediction of fugitive dust level in the surrounding should be carried out (for 24 hours average) with the help of suitable computerized Fugitive Dispersion Model (FDM), based on Gaussian Plume formulation."
